I've been piping approximately 20 years. Previously a member of 2 different bands. Currently a solo piper.
Honestly, a little bit rusty (not much practice time in grad school), but I'm getting my skills back.
I'm a Highland Piper & Scottish Fiddler in the Alexandria, VA (Washington DC) area, available for all Scottish events, and I'm happy to mix up your event with any mix of tunes & airs on Highland pipes, fiddle, cello da spalla, smallpipes, border pipes, and more that your event might need, as well as songs in Scots & Gaelic.
In addition to solo piping & fiddling, I also can provide Scottish music with an accompanist, or with either of my bands, The Devil's Tailors (a 5-piece high energy Scottish Celtic band) and Tweedsyde (a Scottish early music duo) for Ceilidhs & Burns suppers, and full-service Wedding gigs. For Ceilidh gigs, I can also provide callers & pianists.
I have the full range of costume from Full Dress uniform, band uniform, formal kilt outfit, casual kilt outfit, and historical 18th century attire.
I've been playing the bagpipes since I was a junior in high school. Shortly after graduating from high school, I joined the Cameron Highlanders, playing with them and teaching my old high school pipe band while earning my degree in music education. I'm currently the Pipe Sergeant of our Grade 3 band.
I play mainly Highland Pipes, though also Spanish Gaitas and Scottish Small pipes.
I am a member of the United States Army / Maryland Army National Guard and have served for over 23 years. I am an officer and veteran. I am also an Eagle Scout. I started my journey into the bagpipe world in 2021 and received instruction from the Fire Brigade Pipes and Drums of Greater Baltimore.
I am a piper in the Southwestern PA area keeping bagpipes and tartan active and in the public eye for all to enjoy.
Piping in Greene County, and the surrounding area including Southwest PA, parts of West Virginia, and Ohio.
Serving all of Alaska.
A little about yourself: I have been a bagpipe enthusiast my whole life, as my mothers side of the family is Scottish. My brother and I have been playing bagpipes since I was 14. For the past 22 years I have played bagpipes for wedding, funerals, special events, parades and was even the official bagpiper for all Kansas State University Commencement Ceremonies and other special events. I have even had the opportunity to play for occasions in Europe, the British Isles and here at home. I would be honored to play for you in any capacity. Please contact me with any questions or special requests. Sláinte mhaith!
