Custom-Weave Premium Wool Ancient Kilt

There are currently over 3,700 registered tartans, but only about 1,400 of them are currently in production. If you don't see the tartan or family name you are looking for in any of our tartan lists, most likely it's available in a custom weave.

As members of the Tartan Authority, we have access to all of the registered tartans. To order a custom-weave kilt, first search for your tartan using the Tartan Authority's Tartan Ferret search tool. Then, just tell us the name of your tartan, and the ITI# you find with the Tartan Ferret search. If you need any help with this, just let us know — we're happy to help!

We make your kilt to order from your choice of light weight (11 oz) or heavy weight (15oz) premium wool tartan, woven in Scotland. We generally recommend the light weight tartan. It makes a really good kilt, and it's comfortable for hot-weather wear. If you're not concerned about the extra weight of fabric over your shoulder, then heavy weight tartan makes a great-looking, more durable kilt for the same price.

Very special order. Please allow 12–20 weeks for delivery. (Because the tartan has to be woven first, custom weave kilts take approximately twice as long as other kilts to make.)

6 yds, $569 (fits up to about a 38in. waist)
8 yds, $759 (fits up to about a 48in. waist)
10 yds, $949 (fits 50in.+ waist) 

How to measure for your Ancient Kilt:
1) Measure the waist size at your actual waist, where you usually wear your pants.
2) Measure the length from your waist to about the middle of the knee.
Have someone help you. If you bend even a little while trying to do it yourself, the measurement will change.
