Irish kilts and Irish tartans are fairly recent modern inventions, but are no less important as a way of celebrating your Irish heritage. Irish kilts are becoming increasingly popular, and it's no wonder - everyone agrees that a good lookin' Irishman looks even better in a kilt!

Irish Formal Kilt

Irish Casual Kilt
The Irish Casual Kilt is a great option if you want a nice looking kilt without spending as much money. Nearly identical in appearance to our formal kilts, casual kilts are machine stitched instead of hand stitched, and made with less tartan.

Historic Style Irish Kilts

There is little evidence that the Irish ever wore kilts historically. Irish tartans and Irish kilts are modern inventions. Nevertheless, our Irish tartans are still a very popular choice for those of Irish descent who want to wear a Kilt, so we have made them available!

Irish Ancient Kilt
The Irish Ancient Kilt is made from a long piece of single-width fabric, about 25" wide. This allows you to pleat the kilt with 2-3 yards left over that is worn over the shoulder as a sash.

Irish Phillabeg or "Little Kilt"
The Phillabeg is an early predecessor of today's modern kilt, dating back to at least the late 1600's. It is simply a length of tartan about 25" wide and about 4 yds long, loosely bunched or pleated, and held about the waist with a belt.

Irish Great Kilt
It is hard to beat a traditional great kilt. When you belt it on, more than half of the fabric is above the belt. This extra fabric can be bustled up behind you, pinned over the shoulder, or worn over both shoulders like a cloak.

 

 

Irish Accessories

It's only fitting that you should get Irish accessories to go with your Irish Kilt ! Choose a cap badge or kilt pin in your family's crest. Go with a harp, shamrock, or Claddagh theme. Build yourself a complete Irish Outfit! Irish accessories are the perfect addition to Tartans , and Kilts. A Note About Irish Family Names — In general, minor spelling differences don't make any difference in choosing a family crest. You can also add or remove an O' or Mc as needed. For example, if your last name is Connor, choose the O'Conor crest. If your last name is Donnelley, choose the O'Donnell crest.

Add your family crest to any outfit! Pin it on your kilt or you can use it to fasten a sash or plaid! 50+ family names to choose from. Each is cast in solid lead-free Pewter. We try very hard to keep all kilt pins in stock at all times, but if we are waiting for a shipment, you will need to wait too, up to 8 weeks for delivery. Each is 3.5" long. (Made in Scotland.) There is also the fine quality pewter with green enamel shamrocks kilt pin or the solid cast brass, plated with real silver, then antiqued Claddagh kilt pin.

Each is cast in solid lead-free Pewter. We don’t carry many Irish cuff links but we do carry some fine quality chrome-plated brass with green enamel shamrocks.

Scarves

Wrap yourself up in warm, fuzzy, lambs wool to keep warm on a cold day! Made from 100% premium lambs wool tartan. Available in over 50 tartans. Finished size of 12" x 58", with purled ends.

Sporrans

We have two different options for Irish sporrans. There is the leather shamrock or the shamrock in muskrat fur. Both are very beautiful sporrans and we are positive that they will serve you well.

Bodhran

Fine quality bodhran made by Waltons of Ireland. 18" 3-ply birch laminate wood frame with a real goat skin head. The medium brown stain finish allows the wood grain to show through nicely. Finished with a brown leather band. Each bodhran includes one tipper.

Dart Board

Add a bit o' Guinness to the party. Large 18" Guinness dart board. Comes with two sets of darts. Good quality construction, built to last.

Pub Glasses

These classically shaped, traditional Irish pub glasses each hold a full pint of your favorite beverage. Very well made, and nicely printed with the official Guinness logo. Imported from Ireland.

Black enamel on chrome Guinness Belt Buckle with convenient bottle opener. That's a handy buckle! Fits up to 1.5" belt. According to Luke (who owns lots of buckles), this is one of his most favorite buckles, and very well made.
