Welsh
Formal Cilt
KFW13 $550
Made from medium weight 12/13oz premium wool tartan.
Hand-stitched pleats and lots of attention to detail make these
some of the nicest kilts available. Made with at least 8 yds of
Tartan and constructed to last a lifetime.
NOTE
Welsh tartans are not woven with a kilting selvage, so kilts
will be hemmed. (It still looks great though. You won't know the
difference). Also, Welsh tartans are woven a little looser, and
have a softer feel than you will be used to if you are already familiar
with Scottish tartans.
One extra, interesting option you have with a Welsh kilt is the
option of having a small Welsh Dragon embroidered on the front apron
of your kilt at no extra charge. Choice of plain red Welsh dragon,
or red Welsh Dragon on a St. David's Cross (not exactly, but similar
to the picture above). Sorry, this is a new option so we don't have
a photo yet.
Made to order in Wales. Please allow 6-12 weeks for delivery.
How
To Measure for Your Kilt:
1)
Measure your waist size in inches at the navel (belly button). This
is the traditional cilt waist.
Alternatively, many men prefer to wear their Casual Cilts at the pants
waist. If this is what you choose, then measure comfortably around
your waist where the top of your pants rest. Or, If you intend to
wear your cilt mostly for formal occasions, and you have a bit more
around the middle than you might like to have, you may want to measure
a little higher than the navel to get over the crest of the "beer
gut". The higher waist is more formal, but it will help your
cilt stay up where it belongs.
2) Measure around your hips at the fullest point (usually 6-8
inches below the waist).
3) Measure from your waist (cilt waist or pants waist accordingly)
to about the middle of the knee. This is usually best done with some
help because if you bend over even a bit, your measurement will not
be correct.
4) Your height. |
