Formal Kilts

Hand–stitched pleats and lots of attention to detail make these the nicest kilts available. Made with at least 8 yds of Tartan and constructed to last a lifetime. Our formal kilts are made to order in Scotland, so please allow 8-12 weeks for delivery. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like more information. Premium Wool Formal Kilts

Made from 100% pure new wool tartan, woven and made in Scotland. We use three different weavers/kiltmakers, depending on tartan availability: Strathmore, Lochcarron, and House of Edgar.

Light Weight Premium Wool Formal Kilt
KF011 – $525
 Made in Scotland from light weight 10/11oz premium wool tartan. Light weight wool makes a good kilt, and the light weight is especially nice for hot weather wear. In general though, if your tartan is available, we recommend a medium weight kilt.
Made to order in Scotland with 8-9 yards of tartan. Pleat to sett or stripe (if possible). Special order. Please allow 8-12 weeks for delivery. Hip sizes 46-53 add $40. Hip sizes 54+ add $70.

Medium Weight Premium Wool Formal Kilt
KF013 – $550
Made in Scotland from medium weight 12/13oz premium wool tartan (includes tartans from our Old and Rare collection). Tartan availability is more limited, but we always recommend a medium weight kilt if your tartan happens to be available. Medium weight tartan will hang better and take a crisper pleat than light weight tartan, while still being light and comfortable to wear. It just makes a better all around kilt.
